{Paper Love} Sachets

by Shannon Hernandez on August 24, 2012

Hi everyone, Shannon here. Lately I have been hooked on making items out of paper that would normally be made out of cloth. Today I want to share with you lovely paper sachets.

Paper sachets make great packaging for gifts for your guests. You might fill sachets with…

  • seeds and use them as plantable containers for a very “green” gift. Because paper decomposes so nicely in the earth, the entire package can be planted.
  • lavender for tucking into a lingerie drawer.
  • small favors such as candy, tealight candles or jewelry.
  • rice, seeds or paper confetti for throwing over a bride and groom.

The key to making traditional paper sachets is to use a very strong fibrous paper, which will allow you to gather and tie off the top (using ribbon or twine) without tearing the paper.

You can also create petal sachets, which allow you more paper options.

No matter what type you make, they will be a lovely addition to your tablescape and party decor and beautiful keepsakes for your guests.
